Real work in the industries we support

Does this sound like you?

Most people who contact us are not short on skill. They are short on paperwork. Choose the situation closest to yours and see how your experience can change it.

What's holding you back
Job ads, employers and contracts often ask for a formal qualification, even when you can do the work better than people who have one.
How your experience can change that
A registered training organisation can assess the skills you already use every day against a nationally recognised qualification. If your evidence meets the requirements, you receive the qualification without starting the course from the beginning.
How we help
We match your daily duties to a suitable qualification and help you build the evidence.

Is it the same qualification as doing the full course?

Yes. Having your existing skills assessed leads to the same nationally recognised qualification as completing the course. The difference is how you get there: you show evidence of what you already do, instead of sitting through lessons on it.

Experience counts wherever you gained it.

Paid work, overseas jobs, your own business, volunteering, past training: all of it can count towards a qualification when it is backed by evidence. Scroll to watch it come together in one file.

  1. Paid employment

Work for an employer, whether full time, part time or casual.

  2. Overseas work experience

Skills gained in another country can count when they are relevant and well evidenced.

  3. Self-employment or business ownership

Running your own business or working as a contractor.

  4. Volunteer work

Unpaid roles with community groups, clubs or charities.

  5. Previous study or training

Courses, short programs and in-house training you have already completed.

  6. Workplace-based learning

Skills you picked up on the job from supervisors and colleagues.

  7. Industry licences, tickets and certificates

Licences and tickets such as forklift, first aid or a white card.

  8. Practical skills developed on the job

What you can actually do, shown through photos, videos and work samples.

How it works, from first chat to qualification

Five steps, from a conversation about your work to a decision by a registered training organisation (RTO).

  1. Step 1: A conversation about your work

We start with what you actually do: your roles, how long you have done them, where you gained the experience and what you want next. Then we tell you honestly whether a qualification looks realistic.

    • Your current or previous job roles
    • Years in each role
    • Country where you gained the experience
    • Certificates or licences you already hold
    • Where you want your career to go
    • Visa status, if you are not a citizen
  2. Step 2: Matching your experience to a qualification

We compare your real daily duties with what nationally recognised qualifications require, so any option we suggest fits the work you do and the evidence you can show.

    • Based on real duties, not job titles
    • A straight answer when a match is not realistic
  3. Step 3: Building your evidence file

Most people have the skills but not the paperwork in order. We help you gather, sort and check your documents, references and work samples so they are relevant, current, genuine and complete.

    • Relevant
    • Genuine
    • Current
    • Sufficient
    • Clearly organised
  4. Step 4: Assessment by a registered training organisation

Qualified assessors at a partner registered training organisation (RTO) review your evidence against the qualification's requirements. They may ask for a conversation, a practical demonstration or more documents.

    • Extra documents, if asked
    • Practical demonstration
    • Competency conversation
    • Third-party verification
    • Gap training, where required
  5. Step 5: Your qualification

If the assessor confirms you meet the requirements, the RTO issues the nationally recognised qualification, or a statement of attainment for the units you have shown.

    • Issued by the RTO, not by Future Sync
    • Depends on your evidence and the assessment

Future Sync provides consultation and application support. Qualifications are assessed and issued by partner Registered Training Organisations.

Questions people ask us first

Can I get a qualification from my work experience in Australia?

Often, yes. A registered training organisation (RTO) can assess the skills you already have against a nationally recognised qualification. If your evidence shows you meet the requirements, the RTO can issue the qualification without you completing the full course. Future Sync helps you prepare for that assessment.

Do I need to attend classes?

Usually not, or only briefly. You are assessed on what you can already do. If the assessor finds gaps in your evidence, you may need to provide more documents, complete assessment tasks or do gap training for those parts only.

Does overseas work experience count in Australia?

It can. Overseas experience may be considered when it is relevant to the qualification, genuine, and supported by enough evidence, such as employer reference letters, payslips, contracts or photos of your work.

Can Future Sync guarantee my qualification?

No. Future Sync guides and supports your application, but the assessment decision is made by the partner RTO's qualified assessors. Be cautious of anyone who promises a guaranteed or instant certificate.

How do I check that a training organisation is genuine?

Search the organisation's name or code on training.gov.au, the national register of registered training organisations and qualifications. A genuine RTO is listed there with the qualifications it is approved to deliver.

Check us before you trust us.

When it comes to qualifications, verify everyone, including us. Both checks take a minute on official government websites.

Tell us what you do and how long you have done it. We will tell you honestly whether a qualification looks realistic for you.
